Liquid Personal Finance App Reviews

Spending allowance is cool

I love that I can see how much I am able to spend after my savings goals and expenses

A good app with a good cause from good people.

If you are considering trying this app, take it from someone who helped design parts of it and uses it every day. Its a good product with a good cause from good people. This will not do the manual work for you but it does make it extremely easy to actually manage and steward your money well. The email address is for cloud syncing across devices. You need an account for that to happen. The platform is flexible, it can be used for your personal budgeting tastes. Try it, you will see what I mean. The closest comparison I can come up with is, it is what the envelope budgeting system should be. Its just in your pocket now! The team at Liquid really care about people taking control of their money and making good changes in their lives because of it. This app should show that. If you see any bugs, let them know, they are my friends and I know they are 100% committed to seeing this be successful.

Your personal CFO!

This app is perfect in its simplicity - it allows me to keep my budget in check, track my goals and keep me aware how much (hours) I have to work for each of my expenses! While at the same time, it gives me this liquid number, which I understand is the immediate financial reach that I possess. And I like it that it looks like a coloring palette, which got even me convinced and motivated to do this!

One Number Is All You Need To Know

The simplicity of this app is great; with all the numbers out there (bank accounts, credit card balances, budget amounts, amounts Im saving for) this is the first software that distills all amounts to a single number so I know exactly where I stand. The rollover feature allows me to build up balances in my buckets for the time when the expense is higher than normal, like electricity, or when it comes due later in the year, like auto insurance. Seeing how long I have to work in order to pay for my expenditures is a real eye-opener!

Liquid is Awesome

I knew my bank account balance wasnt telling me the truth. It didnt know what I was going to spend and so it couldnt tell me where I was going to end up for the month. I felt stressed because I never knew for sure how much money Id have as a buffer. With Liquid I finally have a clear picture of what my emergency fund will be by the end of the month. I know what is safe to spend and I see how Im making progress towards my goal of having a few months of living expenses saved up. That... and I love the drag & drop. This is 100x better than lame spreadsheets. EDIT: The update was a welcome addition -- now receiving buckets work great.

Finally keeping my finances in order!

This is such a great app. In the past Ive been so horrible with money, but Liquid has been making it so simple to stay on top of my budget and avoid overspending. Ive been using it since the beginning of the month, and my wallet is finally starting to look great for next month!

Totally lost

Nice interface - wish there was a trial version - I am completely lost on how to use this app. The walk-through is no more than a preview. It would be helpful to have some basic instruction on how to set up account. As is, Im having a hard time understanding the workflow and how it supports the envelope budgeting system.

Waste of money

Nice interface and that is pretty much all about it. Guys, there are other currencies than US$. But no, cant change it. Why did you not mention in your description? Made me spending money for nothing. Initial Balance? Nope, you start as a very poor person because you cant enter an initial balance to start with.

Waste of money

This app is very hard to use. I see the potential, but you dont give good enough instructions. Also, you fail to tell people you have to sign up for an account to make the app work.

Really slick!

This app is a radical change from other budgeting methods Id used. It was a little weird the first 10 minutes I used the app and made me shift how I think about my money. Now that Im a few days into using the app its awesome. A lot of thought went into making the interface fast, simple, and smart. My advice: Use it for a few days and let your mind get used to thinking differently. Then youll get it. I keep all my receipts throughout the day and take 3 minutes to enter them when I get into bed. That time everyday lets keeps me thinking about how Im spending my money and where I want to prioritize. Its been really helpful. Great work to the developers.

Excellent App!

This is a great financial tool! It reduces all the complexity down to one figure which tells you how much you can really spend. The more I use this app (every day now), the more I love it! Im finally learning to use money wisely. It is not simple to use, so it takes perseverance and patience! But your investment of time in mastering this app will give you iron-clad control over your spending! Well worth the time and effort! An excellent app!

Pretty Awesome

As mentioned below, give it a try and have an open mind. My first paycheck bucket didnt roll over until the 2nd of the month, so I was kinda frustrated on the first. But it all came together and I am really loving this. On top of that, the customer service I receved from the developer was pretty amazing.

Confusing, not worth $2

This app is confusing and needlessly over complicated. I need something quick to manage my finances and this isnt it. Mint is 100x better and free. Dont waste your money.

Love it!

Great way to keep track of the money I dont have...

So many things to love about this app!

Best $1.99 Ive ever spent! 1) Gives you a view of what your discretionary cash for the month really is. 2) Allows you & your significant other to update the same account from multiple devices real time. 3) Gives you & your significant other a common language to talk about money. 4) Helps you learn more about money tracking as you learn how to use the app. 5) If you track your spending real time, you become more aware of your spending habits. 6) Excellent support from the developer. 7) Very flexible & easy to make work for your personal situation (but it takes some time to learn how to do this) 8) Once you have it all set-up its super easy to use. 9) You dont link to other on-line financial accounts. Some people find this a downside but personally I dont like the apps that require access to all my financial accounts to update. It just makes me nervous from a security standpoint. This requires you to manually update as you spend & receive money. The upside of this is you are more aware of what you are spending & whether or not you actually have the extra money to spend, so you will likely spend less & make more conscious decisions about your spending. (I know I do.) Its kind of like Weight Watchers for your wallet. The app does take a little time to get used to & you have to play with it some to learn how to it works but getting a handle on your finances takes time to do it properly, no matter what app you use.

Support?

No manual, instructions, or anything other than a short video on how to use it. Nothing on setup. I wouldnt advise getting this app

Didnt get it

I am sure this app is potentially very good but after 30 minutes of trying to figure out how to start, and 30 more minutes searching for a manual of some type unsuccessfully, I deleted it. Disgusted I didnt try before I buy. We are starting a new budget, today with new fresh bank accounts. I could not make sense of how to set it up which means there is NO way my wife would use it. I wish the best for you guys but with no detail instruction and no easy way to write you out of the app... I only feel like you got me. I give up. BTW I own and operate a 7 million dollar business, so its not like budgets are new to me.

Hated it

Waste of money. Way too hard to figure out. Didnt find it even remotely intuitive. Deleted it.

Will not work in iOS 8

I started to set it up and after a few entries it collapsed and would not work. The developer blamed it on an Apple update and had no fix. Dont buy it until it works!

Shuts down every time I try to add something

This app has a great concept but every time I try to add a category to my spending, receiving, etc slot the app closes spontaneously. Fix this and itll be great
